My Use of AI

There are complex ethical issues related to the use of AI, including how LLMs perpetuate harm, the environmental impact, and the use of stolen material to train LLMs. I use AI intentionally to support me with tasks in my business for which I do not have the budget to hire human expertise. My use of AI therefore varies, but it does not form the core of my work, including but not limited to my thought leadership or writing.

Collection, Use, Disclosure, Security and Identity regarding the records related to the therapeutic relationship

The collection, use and disclosure of client records is governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and the Personal Health Information and Protection Act (PHIPA), 2004. Records are only disclosed to the person to whom the records relate, in accordance with a signed consent from the person to whom the records relate, in accordance with a Court Order or police warrant, or upon request by another authorized individual (for example, a confirmed estate trustee). Shulamit retains no paper records. Electronic records are archived immediately upon file closure. The digital and electronic tools I use are compliant with the privacy laws and regulations mentioned above. I conduct sessions in a closed office with no one else present in the room. You are responsible for managing and maintaining security and confidentiality on your end.

I assume you are who you say you, and not an imposter, based on your provision of contact and payment information and your signature of your consent to services form. If your identity is in doubt, I may ask for proof of your identity, such as a Driver’s Licence, at any time.

RELATIONSHIP AND CONFLICT

In order to protect privacy and foster an environment of trust and safety, we will discuss and make an agreement about the kinds of interactions we may encounter outside sessions. I am open to discussion and revision of any agreement we make.

Transparency and open communication are among my highest values, so I welcome feedback. I hold all human needs as precious; I am striving to meet them in every moment, and I believe you are too. In my experience, honesty about needs (met and unmet) opens the door to connection and healing.

If, after providing me with feedback, you still have unmet needs, please invite me into a facilitated conversation with you so that you can receive support in expressing your needs and getting heard in the way you would like. You are free to choose the facilitator or I can recommend some resources.
